Villa Park named Leading Family Resort at SATA 2024
Villa Park has been named Leading Family Resort at the South Asian Travel Awards 2024.
Set in South Ari Atoll, the island has always carried a different kind of scale. It is large enough for families to spread out, active enough for children to keep moving, and varied enough for longer stays to feel less repetitive.
That combination matters.
A family resort cannot rely on the beach alone. It needs space, shade, flexibility, and places where children can spend their energy without every hour needing to be planned.
At Villa Park, that is built into the island.
Why does Villa Park work so well for families?
Villa Park works well for families because of its large island setting, spacious villas, wide beaches, Park Players Kids Club and varied activities across land and sea.
The island gives families room to move.
Children can spend the morning by the water, shift into activities at Park Players Kids Club, and still have something different to do later in the day. Meanwhile, parents are not left trying to make one small area work for everyone.
Park Players is one of the resort’s strongest family features.
The kids club gives younger guests their own space on the island, with activities that move between play, creativity and nature. Because of that, the day does not depend entirely on the pool or beach.
That makes a difference on longer stays.
What can families do at Villa Park?
Families at Villa Park can enjoy beach days, snorkelling, watersports, kids club activities, spa time, dining experiences and South Ari Atoll marine excursions.
Villa Park works best when days stay open.
One morning might begin with snorkelling or a walk along the beach. Another might start at the kids club before moving into the pool, watersports or a family lunch under the trees.
For families interested in marine life, South Ari Atoll adds another reason to stay.
The region is known for whale shark encounters, while the surrounding waters give children and adults a closer look at the ocean beyond the shoreline. At the same time, the island keeps plenty of options on land, from cycling paths to garden-led dining at ZERO.
There is enough variety for everyone to find their own rhythm.
What makes the stay practical for parents?
Villa Park offers family-friendly villa categories, open spaces and enough activities to keep the stay flexible, making it easier for parents to balance rest with family time.
A family holiday often comes down to logistics.
How far is the room from the beach? Is there enough space to unpack properly? Can children move around safely? Is there something to do when everyone needs a change of scene?
Villa Park answers those questions through size and layout.
The resort offers a wide range of villa categories, including larger options for families and groups. Beach pool villas and two-bedroom categories give families more privacy, while the island’s scale means the day never feels too compressed.
That practicality is part of the comfort.
What does the award recognise?
The South Asian Travel Awards recognition highlights Villa Park’s position as a family resort in the Maldives, shaped by its facilities, island scale, service and range of experiences.
The SATA Gold Award recognises more than one feature.
It reflects how the whole island works for families, from accommodation and activities to the team behind the stay.
Villa Park’s General Manager described the award as a recognition of the resort’s commitment to family travel and thanked the team whose work makes that possible.
In many ways, that is what the award points to most clearly.
Not one headline facility, but a resort that has been built to make family travel easier, fuller and more memorable.
